Revival?
So I've decided to try this game again, just for fun.
Before you say I'm a two-faced hypocrite, let me explain. Everything I said in the last post was true - I don't want to spend my entire life playing MapleStory and there are a lot of problems with it, but now that KingsIsle has laid off half of its staff(probably due to financial problems), chances are that my favorite games(Wizard101 and Pirate101) are not going to get updated soon, if at all. I don't want to be a Gloomster and say that these games will be closing their servers forever, but every MMO is bound to die sooner or later as new games become prominent. The same is said for MapleStory - even though it's celebrating its 11th, the game cannot go on forever. My console games will last until the PS4 and PS3 no longer have technical support, once the next generations of PS4.5 and PS5 show up, but they're longer lasting than the MMOs. And if the worst-case scenario happens and we go into the Dark Ages with electricity no longer existing, I still have plenty of books to read. (I own most of the Cat Who and No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series.)
But, for the time being, I want to give MapleStory another chance. However, there will be ground rules set so that I don't play it all the time:
(1) All of my MMOs will be restricted to evenings so I can work on my regular games in the mornings, whenever I have no other obligations(like church).
(2) At most Maplestory will be given three evenings a week.
(3) Finally, I will never buy Karma Koin unless I get a big windfall of money or get a job to pay the bills. Sorry, that's how it is - I've already suffered some recessions in $ because of incidents involving my rent so I can't afford to leech too much from my grocery bills. :(
That said, I hope to have some good updates on this game later. Ciao!
