With the Big Bang patch in 2006 came a lot of changes but also the inclusion of a new set of heroes - the Resistance of Edelstein. There were no Thief or Warriors Resistance characters(and Claudine explains that the Resistance doesn't use thieves even though she was trained to be a Thief and Elex was trained to be a Warrior) but at least these characters have the most important class...
And so CJMyst becomes my Battle Mage, a powerful tankish magician class who carries around a Grim Reaper buddy. The Morning Glory is a great early familiar for him as it restores 10% of his MP every 15 seconds, and he needs that MP as he sucks it dry like a vampire with his attacks.
He made it to second job advancement just by fighting Edelstein enemies, although he had a tough time of it thanks to the insane number of Demon Slayers spamming Demon Impact and KSing him. :(
To be fair, I am going to do a whole set of warriors on the El Nido West Coast server and a Demon Slayer is going to be one of them.
